Anthony Hanchett was born in Houston, Texas.  He grew up on the south-side of Houston in the historic South Park and Sunnyside areas.  In his youth, Anthony always had a fascination with music and a natural inclination for performing.  Growing up his parents would always play 90s R&B, slow jams and what is today considered neo-soul from artists such as Musiq Soulchild and Erykah Badu.  Anthony has fond memories of his entire family engaging in music together. One of a few memories being he and his brothers singing group arrangements they prepared for family functions during holidays and school events.  

 

Through the years, Anthony excelled in academia and developed his many talents in entertainment.  He continued his studies through college and furthered his development there. Anthony graduated from the Prairie View A&M University with his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and worked in industry for four years for a large candy manufacturer.  He knew it was time to start pursuing his music career.

 

Anthony has an eclectic ear for music.  He draws inspiration mainly from genres such as Gospel, R&B including Neo-Soul, Hip-Hop and Pop, but also Jazz, Christian music, Rock and Country.  He also draws inspiration and encouragement from the stories of Houston legends such as Destiny’s Child, Beyonce´ and the Screwed Up Click to name a few.  Major musical influences were his father, Michael Jackson, Usher and Musiq Soulchild.

 

Anthony loves all things Houston.  He is a devoted man of God, husband to his talented and gorgeous wife Sonia and family man.  It is through God that he trust to guide his journey, his leadership and his career.  His journey is a testimony to God of what is possible through his son Jesus Christ. As a spiritually and socially conscience individual, he wishes to aid people through his music in their journeys of self-awareness and healing in a way that is effective and fun simultaneously.
